Ford 6600 diesel tractor
Ford 6600 series tractors are probably the best all around tractor Ford ever made. They are durable, simple, economical and maneuverable. I really like the feel of these. Fun to zip around on. They hit the road good too. With the cab, there is an extra level of safety. It gives You more confidence and comfort while operating. As You can see, this one has cab with heat and factory a/c. The interior is shabby and worn. But, it is cozy inside. All the glass is good. The side window rubbers are dry and cracked. The air conditioner is working best I can tell. (it is about 45 degrees here today) Overall, This is a nice tight old tractor with 4975 hours on the clock. Judging from the wear and overall condition, I believe this to be accurate. The tractor is powerful and responsive. I hooked a John Deere 275 9′ disc mower to it and the lift and hydraulics worked well. The PTO works correctly. Turns on and off like it is supposed to and it is strong. This 6600 has the 8-speed gear box with the shifters between Your legs. I like this better than the cab tractors with shifters by the window because this type of shifter uses no linkage. These sticks go directly into the top of the transmission. This makes Your shifting very precise and positive. Factory dual remote hydraulic hookups work well and would make it quite simple to install a front end loader. Radio is not working. I have not investigated why. But, the wiring and fuse panel are very neat and original. The power steering works correctly as do the brakes and parking brake. Tires are sound and have pretty good tread. Of the 2 head lights, only 1 works. There is a factory Ford top link included You can see in the pictures. And the belly bar and lift arm ends don’t show excessive wear. I don’t know of any leaks or mechanical problems with this tractor. Tractor is located at 805 South central ave. New Albany, Ms 38652.
