1961 Series 630 John Deere (gas engine)
My grandfather bought this tractor in the early to mid 60s. It was kept inside out of the weather. Serviced and very well cared for. Its 53 years old so it not perfect but i would say its in pretty good shape considering it age. The engine was rebiuld in the 80s. At some point the charging system was converted from 6 volt to 12 volt. After it sets for a long while its a little hard to start (meaning most of the time the points need cleaning). It also has a small fuel leak around carburator bowl and small oil leak around oil seal on rear axle. The tachometer does not work. To the best of my knowledge this is the repairs that the tractor needs. There can be more problems with the tractor that iam not aware of. It was repainted and lettered in the 90s. New raidiator in 2008. New front tires two months ago. I have relocated and have no place to store the tractor. Its setting outside with a tarp over it. With that said its time for someone else to take care of it. Its located in mayfield ky 42066. This tractor also has power steering. Two front lights work. This is a good tractor. Three point hitch works good. I also have some extra parts that will go with tractor. The starter drive does not kick in every time.
