We had it transported to our site from Mississippi, where I believe it was used to pull a scraper or a sheepsfoot roller. The three point hitch connection points look as though they have never been used. It was advertised as having +/- 1000 hours and that is what the hour meter shows. We believe that it actually between 9 – 10,000 hours from information found on the tractor, service stickers, filters, etc. The front tires were completely worn out and one of the rears was damaged beyond repair. The water pump had a slow leak and the paint was faded. We deal with heavy machinery on a daily basis and can find nothing else wrong. We sent the engine oil off for analysis through our Cat dealer and nothing was abnormal. We will send a copy to anyone truly interested. All gearboxes, differentials, etc were up to level and the oil looked good with no parts or shavings. The interior of the cab is in good condition with one piece of material off of the right rear post of the canopy. If fact, we felt that the cab and interior was unusually clean for a machine of this type and age. The seat slides from side to side by design. There is a little slop in the steering column. We installed two new front tires, replaced one rear rim and tire (rim was bent), put in a new water pump, changed the engine oil, topped off all gearboxes and painted parts of the tractor. This is a really nice tractor for its age. If you are in need of a machine this size, I don’t have to tell you what a new one costs. I have tried to describe this tractor as accurately as possible. I have not used it in the field and do not have information regarding its operation under those conditions. I strongly suggest you contact me and arrange a visit prior to purchasing to avoid these problems. SPRING IS HERE AND PLANTING SEASON IS ON US. IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS TRACTOR, GIVE ME A CALL. I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT OUT OF INVENTORY. The item “1995 John Deere 8300 4WD Tractor Farming Mining Construction” is in sale since Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
