This 3000 diesel runs and operates really well. It has factory power steering that steers easy. No excessive smoke or blowby. Tachometer reads around 1300 hours. But, is not working. The loader is a quick attach as well as the bucket. This tractor is not perfect. Mechanically, I know of no problems with it. Cosmetically, it has dents, scratches, and other blemishes. This 5040 Allis-Chalmers is a sound farm tractor. Power steering works well, PTO works well, Strong clutch, Good brakes, remote hydraulic hook-upsStrong 3point lift. I have owned several of these and they all run a little rich until You get them hot and working. This one is no exception. It smokes raw fuel smoke when You start it until it gets hot, then it burns pretty clean. The rear tires have pretty good tread. But, the side walls are coming unbonded from the carcass.
