INTERNATIONAL 284 30-HP DIESEL COMPACT FARM TRACTOR WITH 72-INCH WOODS BELLY MOWER. This is a 1980. 284 compact farm tractor with a 30-hp. 1.6L 3-cylinder diesel engine and a 72-inch. The tractor runs and operates great. It shows 1,421 hours on the meter. We have used the tractor both with the belly mower for cutting large areas of grass and without the belly mower using the 3-point hitch and the P. When needed to operate and drive various attachments. The tractor has a nice grille guard that also has a built in hitch making it great for moving farm wagons and trailers around from the front. The tractor is in good and basically original condition and probably could just use some new paint to give it a nice look. The front end, hood, grille, and all the sheet metal is straight which is seldom seen on most tractors. We did install a nice new high back folding seat a few months ago. The tires have the normal common dry rot cracks showing on most tractor tires. The master cylinder for the left rear wheel is stuck and currently the left brake pedal is not being used. You could either disassemble and free up the stuck master cylinder or replace it, either way not a big repair. The right wheel brake operates fine. We have never used the parking brake and the ratchet handle is currently stuck in the off position and may require lubrication or disassembly to operate. All in all besides maybe needing some paint the tractor is in good condition and ready to go to work, but it is a used tractor and there may be some other things besides those stated above that we don’t know about and may need repair or replacement at some point. The tractor currently has the belly mower installed but I have included the last two pictures showing the tractor without the belly mower attached so you can see what it looks like that way also.
