Vintage Nichols & Shepard Steam Traction Engine Case Deere Bobcat Forerunner
The ultimate yard art or sign for your business. Since we have had this at our property it is just crazy how much attention it has gotten. People are constantly pulling off the road to take pictures. It is a Nichols & Shepard Co. Steam Traction Engine made in Battle Creek Michigan in the early 1900s. These machines were self propelled steam driven power sources used to run threshers in the farm fields at harvest time. It appears to be complete but has not run in last 25 years. The previous owner used to drive it around his property. A good paint job will make it a standout. The rear wheels are currently locked but we brought it to our facility on a flat bed trailer. Measures 18′ long, 8′-6″ wide, 10′-4″ tall at the top of the smokestack. It weighs approx 10 tons. It is located at our facility in Union Illinois, 45 minutes NW of Chicago OHare Airport just off I-90. Happy to answer any Qs.
