I hate to part with my great John Deere 3020 Diesel however I no longer have use for it so I’m listing it for sale. I’ve had it for years and have taken proper care of it. My buddy I bought it from had it for 30+ years or so before me. 7153 actual hours and the engine was rebuilt by John Deere in Billings in April of 1986 with 5666.0 hours on it (So it only has 1,487 hours on it since the rebuild). Injection pump was changed in March 2005. New Starter in October 2017. (2) New Batteries 2016. SCV coupler and one of the lift rams just rebuilt last week by John Deere in Missoula. Tractor inspected by John Deere and verified in excellent running/ operating shape. It has an oil heater which works great. Even in the coldest Montana temperatures just plug it in for 20-30 minutes and it starts every time. The forks are constructed in an incredibly strong fashion and I upgraded the crossbar to a really heavy piece of hard steel so it won’t bend. This is a very effective fork system. I have full service records since the rebuild and it was professionally painted 3 years ago- still in great shape – but it was used since then so it’s not in showroom condition. Is it nice enough to drive in a parade? I certainly think so. All current service has been performed and it is ready for any kind of work you have for it. Considering the hours on the machine since the engine rebuild it seems to me and to every other farmer in the area who has looked at it that it has full power. This listing is for a 1978 Case 644 Tractor with Loader Bucket. This machine starts easily, runs great! This tractor is a awesome little work horse! The bucket can lift a full load without a problem. No mechanical issues what so ever. The tires are in good shape and come with chains shown in pictures. This tractor would be very good for moving gravel / dirt in a landscaping scenario. We just do not use this tractor enough to justify keeping it and it ashame for it to sit in the shop and never be used. I just had it serviced 10 hours ago and it was a total service including all filters, engine oil, and hydraulics. It has the normal wear for 5 years of ownership on it like the step to get on tractor and a very light scratch on the hood which might even buff out. The tractor has always been under a shed however the paint is a bit faded and will probably buff out to new shine I just have not done it. The tires are in great condition probably 90% or better and it is simply a brand new old tractor with 110 hours of use. I will include a used land plane I have had for probably 10 years it is worn but still works great. The best I remember this tractor was a bit over 25k with the quick attach loaded and bucket so this will be a great tractor at a substantial savings over a new one. The hydrostat works flawlessly and I have never had a minutes trouble out of this tractor nor the two prior Kubota’s. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or ask. He had not used it in 2 years so i went through the carb and the tank was empty so it looked good. I switched ti to 12 volt and i put the pertronic electronic ignition on it and it fires up and runs great. The tranny brakes and all other parts of the tractor work as they should. The issues that will need to be addressed in time are it has a very slow seep out of the power steering hydraulic ram, the tach does not work, and the rear rims are rusty but still usable. The lh is the worse. I put a canopy on it and roll over bar for safety. Also i pulled the original seat (it goes with the tractor) and put a nice comfortable bucket seat on it with seat belts.
