Here to sell are TWO (2) rarer to find 40-V Vegetable Special High Crop Tractors. &###xA0; They are consecutive number tractors and the owner would like to sell them as such. The first 40-V was fully and beautifully restored and rebuilt in 2018 from front to back: engine, transmission, final drives and more. &###xA0; New paint, all new tires. &###xA0; Front end is &###xA0;super tight like new new including tie rods, etc.. &###xA0; Completely overhauled engine with receipt. &###xA0; Top to bottom. &###xA0; Hydraulic unit was taken apart and restored with all new parts too. &###xA0; 1956 Serial # 60013. 1958 John Deere 820 Diesel Tractor Rice Special. 1958 John Deere 820 Diesel Rice Special Tractor coming for sale in TN by Dec. Video will open in a new window. Here for sale is a rare John Deere 820 Diesel Rice Special Tractor. Starts and runs good including the pony starting motor. It is now in Tennessee having come in on a truckload of several tractor from the Texas – Louisiana line. At first glance, it looked like it was the original paint but upon a full inspection, it may have been re-painted a long time ago. &###xA0; Would make a hard to find and straight collector tractor. This 820 tractor runs good with pony start. The Rice Specials had mud shields that covered the rear axle bearing and covers on the brakes. These shields and covers prevented rice mud from entering working parts. They also had the deep rice and cane tires as shown. I would estimate that less than 1% of the 820’s were Rice Specials. Definitely less than 1% of the 820’s were both Rice Specials and 1958 black dash models combined. Was used last fall to pull a 6 bottom plow. Has PTO and Remote hydraulics and this is “black dash” 820, the last year of the 820 and same specs has a 830. Good tire tread as shown and straight for its age as the pictures show. The fenders on our 820 do have some rust holes and the left lower fender has a ding by the lower corner. It does run and operate. But, I know of several problems it has. The power steering does not work. It wasn’t working when I got it. I filled the reservoir with fluid. But, it still does not work at all. The throw out bearing whines when You mash the clutch. The starter drags really bad making it hard to start. The battery doesn’t hold a charge. The appearance is generally rough. > 8 speed transmission. All gears are good. > live PTO works correctly. > clutch not slipping. > no excessive smoke or blow by. > motor sounds good.
