1970 MODEL 4020 JOHN DEERE DIESEL. TRACTOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. HAS NEW FRONT TIRES, AND NEW RIMS AND TUBES ON THE BACK. REAR TIRES ARE APPROXIMATELY 65% TREAD. HAS DIFFERENTIAL LOCK, 3 POINT 540 AND 1000 RPM PTO, SINGLE HYDRAULICS. COMES WITH KOYKER K5 LOADER WHICH MAKES TRACTOR VERY HANDY. 4020 John Deere 1969 model S/N 221853 console 1 remote hyd outlet, front weights, 540/1000 rpm PTO works good, 3 point lift works good. It came from retired farmer , everything works as is expected. It starts up quick. Clutch is good and synchro-range trans shifts in all the gears, shifter has normal wear for age. The roll bar and canopy is not John Deere but looks fine. Excellent example of a late model 4020 console. This tractor is a desirable 1972 model with the last run features such as high manifold, crooked stick shifter, single light fenders. It has about 10 hours on a brand new overhaul with JD sleeves and pistons. I had it done by a local licensed repair shop. They also checked and lapped the valves, rebuilt the fuel injection pump, and put in new injectors and replaced the front tie rods. So, all the expensive mechanical stuff is all done. It’s getting harder and harder to find these nice running’72 models. This one starts and runs excellent with no smoke. Rear tires are like new Field and Road Firestones (stickers still on side of them) on newer rims and are loaded. Front tires are brand new. All gears work, clutch and brakes are good. It’s has good working 3 point, 1 hydraulic remote and pto. Sheet metal is pretty good, fenders are original and have some rust, hood is straight but the muffler cut out has been a little altered. Side shields are good. This would be a good collectable tractor that could be used every day and appreciated. Feel free to ask any questions and it can be seen in person as well. I want the new owner to be happy. If paid for, I can safely store inside for a month or two, at least until the weather breaks. Checks would have to clear before it leaves the farm. It’s been used the last couple years running a haybine and square baler. All gears work, clutch (lot of adjustment left) and brakes are good. The lights all work (flashers too) along with the old school fender radio. It’s has good working 3 point, 2 hydraulic remotes, and pto. The tires aren’t great but hold air. Underside is very clean and dry, not a leaking mess like some. 18.4 x 34 rear tires with plenty of tread left. Tractor is missing side console cover and rear cover in photos but I do have them and they will be included in the sale. I’m flexible to meet with trucking company and can get it loaded on a flatbed if it doesn’t have ramps. No fluid in the rears, no welds on the wide front end, 12 volt system. One owner late 1971 (same as 1972) 4020 diesel side console. 7686 hours nicest 4020 i have had for some time. Tractor runs shifts and drives very nice. Almost new tires (can still see tire size on tread) 18.4-34. Tractor has factory rollbar and canopy. Tractor has had a gear reduction starter installed at some time and works very nice. Hate to sell but loosing shed space. Have to sell some of my collection off to pay for new shed. Come drive it, very nice tight tractor.
