1972 John Deere 4020, serial #269494. Its getting hard finding these last year console models and this is in great shape. I was going to make a show tractor out of it but have other things come up. Should within the last 700-800 units at the end of production run on this all time classic tractor. It runs and drives great, with little to no blow by. Tach needle works, but hour meter does not, showing about 5400 hours. It has (2) remotes, 3 point, dual PTO. Tin work is pretty straight, just added new US made battery boxes and it has brand new high quality fenders. The lights are new too and will need to be hooked up yet, I just added them this Fall. Been using it a couple years cutting and baling hay. It’s a handy little tractor that could be used for work or painted and restored. Feel free to ask any questions. Excellent example of a late model 4020 console. This tractor is a desirable 1972 model with the last run features such as high manifold, crooked stick shifter, single light fenders. It has about 10 hours on a brand new overhaul with JD sleeves and pistons. I had it done by a local licensed repair shop. They also checked and lapped the valves, rebuilt the fuel injection pump, and put in new injectors and replaced the front tie rods. So, all the expensive mechanical stuff is all done. It’s getting harder and harder to find these nice running’72 models. This one starts and runs excellent with no smoke. Rear tires are like new Field and Road Firestones (stickers still on side of them) on newer rims and are loaded. Front tires are brand new. All gears work, clutch and brakes are good. It’s has good working 3 point, 1 hydraulic remote and pto. Sheet metal is pretty good, fenders are original and have some rust, hood is straight but the muffler cut out has been a little altered. Side shields are good. This would be a good collectable tractor that could be used every day and appreciated. Feel free to ask any questions and it can be seen in person as well. I want the new owner to be happy. If paid for, I can safely store inside for a month or two, at least until the weather breaks. Checks would have to clear before it leaves the farm. Excellent condition 1972 model with standard options. Runs great, no smoke, good clutch and transmission , all gears work and are quiet. 4000 model tractors are a little rare as it is and this one is a last year 72′ with 5800 hours on working tach, factory 3 point delete with dual hydraulics. Tractor operates well and has a ton of new cosmetic parts such as muffler, screens, side panels, seat, etc. The paint and fenders are really good, the hood is original and has a few bumps on it, so it looks good but it not perfect. Fender and dash lights work but I’m currently trying to get the fuel gauge to work. I’d be glad to keep it safe and stored a few months if tractor is paid for. This is an oliver 880 lp standard. I bought it late last summer in hopes of restoring it. I bought as a true lp. After getting it home, i discovered it was converted to gasoline. I have not done anything with it since so i need to get rid of it.

It does have a good tag that goes with it but i don’t know if it is the original tag. Rear tires are in very good shape as seen in the pictures. Tractor seems to be complete. This would be a great tractor for the oliver enthusiast. A little time and elbow grease may get this tractor revived again.

The tractor is for sale locally. I have described it to the best of my knowledge. I can store tractor for up to a year but must be paid in 10 days. I do have a dock and can help load. Please call me with any questions and i will try to answer.
