1955 John Deere 40 H HI CROP serial number 60110, this is a very rare and nice tractor only 294 of these were produced, I do have the official archive document from John Deere Two Cylinder Club stating that this tractor with the serial number is correct if you scroll to the last photo you can see it, it does have a very good serial number tag, the tractor starts runs and drives excellent, the motor was overhauled holds good oil pressure and does not smoke you can idle it right down and it just keeps on running, the rear rims are good ans solid, the rear tires are 11.2/38 at 95% tread and in very good condition, the sheetmetal is in very good condition, the paint is as nice as a new car, if you look close you can see a few paint flaws but it is good enough to wax and put right in the shows, all the guages are new, the lights work front and rear including the red light, has a Hobbs hour meter, the steering is good and tight and steers easily, has dual touch-a-matic, the brakes, clutch and transmission work very good, I did not ntice any welds or breaks on tractor the rearend is not cracked or welded. This is 1 of the 3 beauty’s the oliver company made and claimed back then. This tractor is an older restoration of mine done and completed 6 years ago by a tractor restoration shop near by. I use it for snow plowing my drive way and pulling a small wood trailer from time to time and drive it in the local parades. My oliver 77 row crop is in nice straight condition and is complete with nothing missing. The tires on the tractor are 6 years old with the restoration completed and in excellent shape front and back including 2 sets of wheel weights on each side of the rear rims. The tires are “good year” brand, the straight 6 motor has a complete over haul done including valve job on the cylinder head. It idles smooth and has excellent power. Everything on my tractor works nice, it has dual hydraulic 3-point lift – very hard to find out there with olivers, the pto works and shuts off well, excellent brakes on both sides, and all wiring with gauges and lights work good, also upgraded 12 volt system on the tractor. This unit has only 242 hours on it. It is equipped with a 135 hp 6 cylinder john deere turbo charged power tech diesel engine. This tractor produces 115 hp at the pto. This machine is in almost new condition. The only thing i noticed on it was a little tire wear (normal amount for 200 hours), and the three point has a little paint missing (just from being used).
