1958 John Deere 420 S Slant Steer serial number 34974, this tractor starts and runs excellent, it is running in the photos, it has a 5 speed transmission the braies and clutch both work great, transmission is good, there is a tach in it it reads 32 hours tach. Is new, the motor runs excellent always starts instantly with good oil pressure and no smoke, it has a complete three point hitch with the correct and original top link, also has a complete drawbar hitch, has a nice front bumper, all the lights work including the rear red light and the dash light, all guages are good, the rims are spin outs and are in good solid condition, the rear tires are 12.4/24 at 90% tread older tires but very good condition, there are no breaks or welds on the tractor the sheetmetal is excellent the paint is older paint job that still looks nice there are a few scratches but nice, it comes with the mounted culitvators on the front and rear of tractor along with side dresser these pieces are in very good condition, also has the original and correct M1900T PTO cover, this tractor is in excellent condition i dont know of anything it needs it is complete has the cultivators and side dresser it is readyt to go to work or put in a museum it is nice and hard to find set up like this. One owner late 1971 (same as 1972) 4020 diesel side console. 7686 hours nicest 4020 i have had for some time. Tractor runs shifts and drives very nice. Almost new tires (can still see tire size on tread) 18.4-34. Tractor has factory rollbar and canopy. Tractor has had a gear reduction starter installed at some time and works very nice. Hate to sell but loosing shed space. Have to sell some of my collection off to pay for new shed. Come drive it, very nice tight tractor. It has 271 hours on it. I put a warren 4000 pound winch on it. And i changed out the factory tires and put itp 26 589 mud tires on it, a much-needed upgrade. 1970 john deere 4020. Late model tractor with long shift stick and side console controls. Full 3pt hitch w/ factory top link. 18.4 x 34 rear tires hold air fine but are nothing special. Has side shields and rockshaft covers. We gave it a jump and it fired right up. Supposedly it had been overhauled at some point prior to being parked but we never got any proof, just what the kids told me. The pto and head gasket have been out fairly recently, thats about as much proof as i have. Everything on this machine works good including the clutch brakes diff lock dual hydraulics and 3pt. It has the long shift lever and side console, tough to find these. The sheet metal is good and solid, as are the side shields and rockshaft covers. Clean rear rims, no rust. Starts from the seat with the key and drives around great. These later model 4020s are hot property and we’ve offered this one pretty reasonable. A person could easily fix what needs attention and have themselves a nice one to keep, or make it nice and flip it for some $$$ in the spring. Bad spots on this machine: it has an injector miss, seems to get better once warmed up but its there. It has old fuel in it, that isn’t helping. Might need an injector. Might just need to be worked hard?? Front and rear tires hold air just fine but are nothing to write home about. Fenders show a little rust around bolts but not much…. Pretty decent in my opinion. Has a hydraulic leak on the 3pt torsion shaft (i think) that probably needs an oring. Shift stick is a little sloppy, not the actual shifting that is very tight, just the lever. Needs a jump to start, batteries are getting tired. Here is your opportunity to own an affordable 4020 side console, dont miss out! Side console model, diesel , 195 hp with a synchro shift transmission. The engine was completely rebuilt 600 hours ago, including rebuilt injector pump, new clutch assembly and rebuilt hydraulic pump. The shift linkage was also rebuilt and it shifts like new. The tractor is equipped with the following. 2 hydraulic rear remote controls. Rear tires are 18″-4 x 34″ and 9.5 x 15.

Front tires are about 70%. Three point hitch and top link.

Front weights and rear wheel weights. Front head lights and tail lights.

12 volt battery side mounted and comes with original battery box. This is a 1970 4020 side console and it runs and operates as it should. Extremely tight and dry.
