I have owned this 4020 for 17 years and I bought it to grade my road and pull a rotary mower. It had just been painted when I bought it. Five years ago the engine had a complete out of frame overhaul using all genuine JD parts. A Shoup radiator was installed and the fuel system was was rebuilt also. The new tachometer installed at the time of rebuild now shows 71 hours. It starts great down to 35 degrees and I have never used ether. The NAPA batteries were new last June. Tires are Goodyear 18.4-34 radials and 11L-15 8PR 4 ribs. I did moderate damage to the outside rear lugs turning too short with a 15 foot rotary cutter. The drivetrain is very quiet in all gears, all lights and gauges work. The left fender has minor damage near the rear work light. The tractor was professionally detailed just this week. 1955 Farmall 100 HI Crop (HI Clearance) rare tractor 1057 Built serial number 14311, this tractor has a complete working fast itch, the front tires are 4.00/19 and are new the ear tires are 9.5/36 Firestones and are new, rims are very good, has a complete battery box with lid, new steering wheel, new muffler, glass jar air breather, paint is very nice you could wax it, the sheetmetal is nice and solid there are a few dings but it is nice, fenders are very good and solid, the tractor runs good good oil pressure and does not smoke, has all correct emblems, didnt notice any welds on teh tractor, the clutch and brakes work good, transmission is good, it is quiet not noisy like some. 1958 John Deere 420 H this tractor has a good serial number tag with the H on it the serial number is 128324 only 610 420 H’s built, this tractor starts, runs and drives excellent, it has good oil pressure and does not smoke the engine runs excellent you can idle all the way down and it just keeps on running, the front end is good and the rear drops are good with no welds, the steering is good it steers easy, the front endis not sloppy, it has the three point hitch which works good, the front tires are brand new the rear tires are 12.4/38 and are brand new, the sheetmetal is excellent flawless and the paint is as god as a new car finish, you will look long and hard to find a nicer tractor, it has all three lights and they do work even the dash light works, the clutch is good the brakes work good, transmission is good the tractor is quiet when driving there are no noises or whines at all, seat cushions are new, I really dont know anything this tractor needs it starts runs and drives excellent with a restoration that is as good as they come very nice look the photos over ask questions if needed. Recently took this tractorto a local show it was four miles round trip drove and ran great.
